What is creative comprehension?

Creative comprehension is a new section of many 11+ and 13+ entrance exams. This course is designed for all students and will support students looking to gain admission to a wide range of schools.

Children will work on their deduction, evaluation, and comparison skills as they are asked to analyse various sources and draw logical conclusions. Students will be taught how to respond to a range of materials, including different sources such as pictures, statistics, and various texts, and draw pertinent conclusions about them.

Which schools require creative comprehension skills?

Many schools such as City of London Boys, Dulwich College, Forest, Trinity, Belmont and all 14 schools in the 11+ London Consortium now use Atom Learningā€™s online tests, which include this important element.

Other schools, including Merchant Taylors and Haberdasher Askeā€™s School for Girls, have previously included source-based questions – the skills taught in the course will help students confidently answer these questions.

Reading comprehension is also frequently included in 11+ papers, including across all grammar schools and this course strengthens all skills required for these questions.
